Happy Birthday, Devon

Happiest Birthday to my beloved, Devon.

I want to get all sappy and talk about the first time I held him or how frightened I was when I almost lost him to pneumonia. I want to pour on how much love I feel when his sparkling blue eyes look into mine and he gives me his smile… the smile he only gives me. But… you know, Devon’s too old for that (he’s eight, you know… nearly a grown man) so I won’t. Today, it’s all about Devon and what he wants.

While we were unable to plan anything too extraordinary, we did manage to spend some time together. We played Heroes of Might and Magic III for a bit, and now we’re going to head out for a special dinner and then to go shopping so he can blow his birthday money.

Regretfully, I was unable to attend the Grand Opening of the Zanzibar Trading Company’s Sacramento location, but I’m sure Scott and Josh will forgive me, (just this once.)

This week has been pure chaos. I have so much I want to write about, I have a story about The Delicious One, and I also have yet another chapter in the ongoing saga of the Slumlords, but it’ll have to wait. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day and today I get to celebrate the first reason I became a mother.
