New Year’s Eve
For years, I always participated in hosting some kind of New Years Eve party of some sort. Initially, it was always with Victoria (well, ok, she did most of the hosting, but I did sometimes help) and then afterward, we would throw small bashes at our ghetto apartment. When we lived in North Highlands, we even had a small party for the gamers we knew. The past two years, though (including the lame assed Millenium disappointment) I have spent “alone” with just the kids. This year, I begged my loving husband to take NYE off so we could be together. And he did.
So now we’re debating on whether or not we should throw a New Year’s Eve party. Would anyone come? The problem is, most of the people we know here in the SF Bay area are married with kiddos, and aren’t really up to dragging their kids out until all hours of the night. That’s understandable, I suppose, though we have managed during our years of gallavanting, to make our kids more portable than that. We do have a few single (or childless) friends relatively nearby, but I just don’t know that they’d want to come, especially if it means driving an hour plus to come.
So… I’m sitting on this edge of indecision. Do I plan some big party only to be disappointed when no one can come? Or do I not even bother, then find myself disappointed when I’m sitting online wishing people halfway across the globe Happy New Year while my husband sleeps in the next room, and the next day friends gripe that they wish they’d had some party to go to. Anyone out there in the San Francisco Bay area (particularly East Bay?) Anyone up to a party? Let me know. If nothing else, I suppose I can plan some wicked-cool seduction for NYE. *lol* Well, maybe. I still haven’t even shopped for Mission #2, yet. D’oh.

We’d come. Kya never sleeps anyway, and Caitlyn will sleep anywhere if we give her a pack and play and dark room.
They are still pretty portable, thank goodness. *grin*
